Hours & Cancellations

HOURS:  VBC is open for services Monday – Friday 8:30 to 6:00pm.  Please contact our staff for specific office hours.

VBC is CLOSED for services: New Year’s Day· Memorial Day· Independence Day· Labor Day· Thanksgiving Day· Friday after Thanksgiving Day· Christmas Eve· Christmas Day· New Year’s Eve

CLOSING/DELAYS:  VBC will follow the cancellation or delay status of Lexington Hearing & Speech Center (LHSC).  If LHSC is closed, VBC will close.  If LHSC operates on a delay, VBC will operate on a delay.  If LHSC chooses to close or delay, that information will be posted on local news stations, our website, parent email, Facebook and Twitter. Daily decisions are made by 6:00 a.m.

IN-HOME DIRECT SESSIONS:  In the event Fayette County Schools OR the district in which sessions occur are closed due to weather, staff may decide at their sole discretion whether to proceed with an in-home session as scheduled or to offer the session at the VBC offices.  If either type of session is offered by the Behavioral Technician but is rejected by the client, a cancellation fee of $40 will apply.  Rejected sessions are NOT required to be made-up.

In the event that school is canceled in the district in which services take place, VBC staff are not required to travel to your district for scheduled appointments.  However, VBC may offer clinic-based services at your scheduled time for clients who are interested and who volunteer to travel to our offices.

VBC expects that Behavior Support Specialists will find appropriate indirect work to take place on behalf of the client for AT LEAST HALF of the scheduled time in order to maintain appropriate clinical oversight.

In the event that VBC staff must travel through multiple districts– some with and some without various weather conditions– VBC staff may decide at their sole discretion whether to proceed with the session as scheduled or to cancel the session without penalty to the client.

“NO SHOW”: In the event that VBC staff arrive for a regularly scheduled appointment (including direct instruction sessions, Program Supervision, and Consultations) and neither the child nor the client (or a previously designated representative for the client, such as a primary care-giver or teacher) are present within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, the then termed “no show” will result in billing for both the mileage and the full duration of the scheduled session. Note: No Show payments are the sole responsibility of the client and not of any third-party representative (e.g. insurance).
