About Amanda Ralston

Over the past two decades, Ms. Ralston has worked with countless individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, as well as providing education to both parents and professionals interested in Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior methodologies. She has provided consultation services and served as an invited professional speaker across Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.

After receiving her B.S. in Psychology from Centre College in Danville, KY, Ralston was first certified as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) in 2001, following intensive coursework in Jacksonville, FL, and a resulting mentorship with Vincent J. Carbone, Ph.D., BCBA-D.  She obtained her M.Ed., BCBA, and Kentucky License in 2013.  She is also a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.

Ralston is a frequent guest speaker for organizations and school districts throughout Kentucky, also providing public workshops on a regular basis in an effort to increase awareness about Applied Behavior Analysis, to increase ABA consumers’ education on various service delivery models, and to promote effective treatment for children with autism.
She is an active advocate for Autism insurance reform and ABA practitioners, and she regularly attends state and national functions related to professional practice and regulation of behavior analytic services, as both participant and speaker.

Ralston has served as a subject matter expert to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board in Littleton, CO on multiple occasions.  And she is a representative on Executive Committee of the  Kentucky Association of Behavior Analysis.

Ralston is the Founder & President of Verbal Behavior Consulting, Inc.  Established in 2007, VBC is a 2017 Small Business Association – Kentucky Pacesetter Award winner that currently employs ~50 full-time applied behavior analysis technicians, supervisors, and administrative staff members.  Ralston was nominated for Kentucky Small Business Person of the Year in both 2015 and 2017.  Additionally, she was named a Lexington Young Professionals’ Association Rising Star in 2015.

Verbal Behavior Consulting’s mission is not only to provide effective and excellent services to its clients but to also guide and train the next generation of ethical and effective Behavior Analysts.

Ralston continues to seek additional education in her field in order to provide up-to-date information to her audiences and effective treatment recommendations to her clients and team.
